Terms, without the fog

The agreement behind every saved moment.

These Terms explain how Bloom works, what you can expect from the service, and the responsibilities that come with storing and managing a child’s memories.

Last updated 21 July 2026

At a glance

The important part, first.

  • Bloom is for parents and adult guardians who have authority to manage the family content they upload.
  • The first 14 days are free app access with no card and no automatic subscription.
  • Any later monthly or annual subscription is confirmed and billed by Apple and renews until cancelled.
  • You keep ownership of your photographs. Bloom receives only the limited rights needed to store, process, sync and export them for you.

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Bloom (“Bloom”, “we”, “us” or “our”) for your use of the Bloom app, website and related services.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, and able to enter a binding agreement. Bloom is intended for parents and adult guardians, not for use by children. By creating a child profile or uploading content about a child, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or guardian or otherwise have all authority and permissions needed to do so.

By creating an account, starting free access, purchasing a subscription or using Bloom, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Bloom service

Bloom helps an adult account holder choose one meaningful photograph for each child profile on each calendar day, add written notes, keep written or recorded monthly reflections and milestones, revisit memories, and create monthly or yearly memory films and Keepsake PDFs.

  • A child can have one saved daily moment for a given calendar date.
  • You may replace or remove a daily moment while the relevant feature is available.
  • One photograph may be assigned to more than one child. Bloom may store that media once and associate it with each selected profile.
  • You may create a viewer-only Private Family Link for selected child profiles, allow viewers to download photographs, and revoke that link from Bloom.
  • Bloom currently supports between one and ten child profiles, subject to your plan and product availability.
  • Capture and child-management features require active free access or a qualifying subscription. Saved content may remain viewable after capture access pauses, subject to the storage terms below.

Bloom is a memory-keeping service, not a sole archival backup. Keep separate copies of photographs that are irreplaceable.

3. Your account

Bloom uses Sign in with Apple and may use Firebase Authentication to create and restore your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple Account, device and any access credentials, and for activity performed through your Bloom account.

Provide accurate information and keep it reasonably current. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Signing out does not delete your account, cloud content or local memories. Removing the app also does not cancel an Apple subscription.

4. Family content and your responsibilities

You keep ownership

As between you and Bloom, you keep ownership of photographs, written notes, monthly reflections (including optional audio recordings), milestone details and other content you provide (“Family Content”). You grant Bloom a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, resize, convert, organise, transmit, display and create the limited derivative versions needed to operate Bloom—such as thumbnails, display copies, print copies and memory films.

This licence is only for providing, securing and improving the Bloom service for you and ends when the relevant content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup expiry and legal retention. Bloom does not obtain a licence to sell your Family Content, use it in advertising, build a facial-recognition database or train AI models.

Your promises about content

You confirm that:

  • you own the content or have permission to upload and use it in Bloom;
  • you have authority to provide each child’s information and images;
  • the content does not violate privacy, publicity, copyright or other rights; and
  • you will not upload unlawful, abusive, exploitative or harmful material.

When you export or share a memory film or photograph, you choose the recipient and are responsible for that disclosure. The recipient’s platform and privacy terms apply after the content leaves Bloom.

If you create a Private Family Link, you are responsible for choosing the child profiles included and sharing the link only with people you trust. Anyone who receives or is forwarded an active link may be able to view and download its photographs. Revoking a link stops future access through that link but cannot retrieve copies already made outside Bloom.

5. Free access, subscriptions and Apple billing

Fourteen days of free access

Bloom may provide fourteen days of free app access before a paid subscription is required for new capture. This promotional access does not require a payment card, does not itself create an Apple subscription and does not automatically convert into a paid plan. On day fifteen, adding new moments or children may pause unless you separately confirm a subscription through Apple.

Paid subscriptions

Bloom offers monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. The available plan, family size, billing period, local price and included features are shown before you confirm. Apple charges your Apple Account only after you approve the purchase.

  • A subscription renews automatically for the same period at the price confirmed by Apple unless you cancel before renewal.
  • You can manage or cancel it in Apple Account Settings. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
  • Bloom does not receive or store your full payment card details.
  • Restore Purchases is available for eligible Apple subscriptions.
  • Refund requests and billing disputes are handled under Apple’s policies through reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Changing the number of supported children or switching between monthly and annual access may require changing the Apple subscription product. Apple shows the price and effective date before confirmation.

Prices, taxes and availability vary by App Store storefront. Apple handles any price-change notice or consent required for an auto-renewable subscription.

6. Photo formats, storage and retention

Stored versions

Bloom converts supported images to JPEG and is designed to retain three versions of each unique capture while eligible access is active:

VersionCurrent maximumPurpose
Print masterUp to 4096 px and 4 MBSupported exports and Keepsake PDFs
DisplayUp to 1600 px and 900 KBFull-screen and memory viewing
Thumbnail360 × 360 px and 120 KBCalendars and compact interfaces

“Print master” does not mean RAW or ProRAW storage, unlimited file size, preservation of every source metadata field, or compatibility with every professional print format. A copy cannot exceed the quality of the source photograph.

If your subscription ends

Ending a subscription may stop new uploads and other paid features. Bloom provides a 90-day grace period before intentionally reducing the quality of a print master or applying a deletion schedule. During that period, you may reactivate or request an available export.

After the grace period and advance notice, Bloom may move print masters to archival or cold storage, require preparation time for an export, retain a reduced-size archival copy, or delete content on the date identified in the notice. Bloom will not intentionally reduce or delete a print master under this schedule before the grace period and stated notice period end, unless you request deletion or law requires a different result.

Exports are subject to reasonable technical limits and the media still available. Where provided, an export may include available images, dates, notes, child associations and a machine-readable manifest. You remain responsible for maintaining your own backup.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Bloom for unlawful, abusive or exploitative activity;
  • upload sexualised content involving a minor or content that threatens a child’s safety;
  • attempt to access another family’s account, media or security credentials;
  • probe, bypass or interfere with authentication, App Check, storage rules, rate limits or service security;
  • scrape, reverse engineer or reproduce Bloom except where law expressly permits it;
  • use Bloom to distribute malware, spam or rights-infringing content; or
  • resell or commercially exploit the consumer service without written permission.

We may preserve and report content where reasonably necessary to protect a child, comply with law or respond to a valid legal request.

8. Apple and other third-party services

Bloom relies on Apple services including Sign in with Apple, App Attest, StoreKit, the App Store and the iOS share sheet, and on Google Firebase for authentication, cloud data, media storage, functions and app security. Your use of those services is also subject to their applicable terms.

The Bloom iOS app is licensed—not sold—under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms supplement that licence for Bloom’s service, accounts, content, subscriptions and storage. If there is a conflict concerning the iOS app licence, Apple’s Standard EULA and mandatory App Store terms control.

The agreement for Bloom’s service is between you and Bloom, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for operating or supporting Bloom, and has the rights and protections given to it under the Standard EULA, including as a third-party beneficiary where applicable.

9. Availability and changes to Bloom

We aim to keep Bloom reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, network failures, provider outages, device limits and circumstances outside our control may temporarily affect the service.

We may improve, replace or discontinue features. We will provide reasonable notice before a material change that reduces active paid functionality, storage quality, grace periods, export rights or retention protections, and will continue to provide the paid service for the period required by Apple and applicable law.

10. Suspension, cancellation and account deletion

You may stop using Bloom at any time. Cancelling an Apple subscription stops future renewal but does not itself delete your Bloom account. Account deletion must be initiated separately through Bloom’s in-app settings or, if you cannot access the app, through the support contact below.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, threaten another person’s safety, misuse the service, fail to pay through Apple, or create legal or security risk. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.

Account deletion removes your Bloom account and associated content that we are not legally required to retain. Apple subscriptions continue independently until cancelled in Apple Account Settings. Bloom will warn you about this before deletion. Sign in with Apple tokens associated with the deleted account will be revoked as part of the completed deletion process.

11. Consumer rights, warranties and liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights, guarantees, remedies or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under applicable consumer-protection and privacy laws.

To the maximum extent the law permits, Bloom is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that every source file, metadata field or device format will be preserved or that Bloom should be used as your only backup.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bloom is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost profits or loss caused by your failure to keep a separate backup. Bloom’s total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Bloom in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount required by law. This limitation does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to the relationship between you and Bloom, without depriving you of mandatory protections in your home jurisdiction. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear a dispute. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for product, security, legal or operational reasons. The new effective date will appear at the top. We will give reasonable advance notice of a material change and obtain consent where law requires it. Changes will not retroactively reduce service already owed for a paid subscription period.
